An attempt was made on my soul
These two voodoo dolls led me down a long hall
Since then I've been digging this hole

I'm the ogre at the orgy
The fly in the anointment
The madman's spiel
The lowlight reel

And it's many a wretch like me
Down on my knees

I'm breathing gloom in motel rooms
Counting spiders on the wall
A blue recluse is on the loose
That don't bother me at all
Through sewer steam in New Orleans
Done up in gun metal blue
Dreaming of happy nerve endings
On Rue Morgue Avenue

Well, it's 45 minutes of sleep last night

Just have a little sympathy

What a cruel display!
